When are dealers required to take the Continuing Education Course?

Dealers need to take the Continuing Education course every time their license is up for renewal. Be sure to look out for your DMV renewal invoice in the mail, this is the document that will inform you that you need to complete the Continuing Education course.

What if I never received my DMV Renewal Notice in the mail?

You can reach out to DMV Occupational Licensing at 916-229-3126 and they should be able to provide your renewal amount.

My Dealer License expired because I didn’t renew my license in time, what can I do?

It is highly likely that you will need to re-apply and go through the process of obtaining your license again. Contact DMV Occupational Licensing for further details at 916-229-3126.

Who is required to take the DMV Continuing Education Course?

All owners, managers, & partners of the dealership must take the course in order to successfully renew their dealers license with the CA DMV Occupational Licensing Division.
